I bought one of the corona type mills, with the metal plates, and it doesn't grind wheat fine enough. It does great on beans and corn, but the flour comes out too course. I put it through three times, and it was still too course. You might check out a Family Living mill. The price is a lot lower than the Country Living mill, but it looks like it will do the job. I will keep the corona style for backup, for corn meal, etc., but I plan to order the other mill.

You can always coarse grind it then give it to the kids with mortar and pestles!! the "really" old fashion way. =)

@Klayton - you're too funny....We would starve if we had to wait on them to grind the wheat...I have a 2 yo and a 3.5 yo...As soon as they saw a butterfly or dog they would be done...lol

I'll do a review of it when it comes in.

I think I may stock up on some feed store wheat, corn, and possibly oats. Not so much as a first line of defense, but we can always feed it to the animals. I also want to pick up one of the Corona type mills. I have one that is more geared toward flour.

@MustangGal - can you provide a model number or link for the Corona mill that you have that is geared towards flour?

@MustangGal - no worries!! Thanks for the info!

elittle, sorry for the misunderstanding. It isn't a Corona. It is a Victorio and I ordered it from Sam's Club for about $50.

I've been reading with the floods and fires here in the states, wheat is in trouble...so that means anything made with wheat is gonna be in demand soon....right??
