Next Shortage - or is it everything??

I went grocery shopping yesterday. I went again today. In looking over my freezer, I saw that I had enough canned berries and frozen pasta sauce, a fair supply of bacon (about 9#), and ground beef (8#) but not enough chicken and definitely not enough steak! I bought 11# of chicken thighs, 4 steaks (to go with the 4 I bought yesterday), some pork chops, some hot dogs, and miscellaneous this and that. Resurveyed the freezer: Still room for more chicken, pork chops, steaks, and ground beef, and maybe another 3# pkg of bacon and some frozen veggies. Garden isn't quite ready yet! I'll give Publix a break tomorrow and head off to pick up our newly reupholstered RV sofa bottom cushion. Husband will go fill up the small gas cans so everything is topped off.

So what's next? Cat food....order is delayed as supplier is out of stock. Good thing my cat will eat anything!

They will pick sectors to go after I believe, food, plastics, lumber, steel, fuel, automobiles (lots of metals and plastics), medicines (OTC and Rx), insurance costs (like home replacement values Bill Foster posted about and medical due to rising costs of Rx's and decline of health of population). They will hammer one and people will complain "wow, gas is really going up" as it rises $0.50/gallon over a few weeks the it drops back down $0.10/gallon and people breath a sigh of relief, but then beef prices raise and drops, then lumber, etc.. Overton window.....If everything rose drastically, then the people may awaken and TPTB do not want that.

And so it is...no shortage near us, yet. After an 80-mile round trip for Bruce's medical appt today, I'll top off my tank tomorrow.

Canned veggies thinning out due to "production issues". Bought some for pantry and some for storage. 3 more lbs of bacon. Canned diced ham, chili, Vienna sausage (yuck), soup, Spam, and more low carb biscuit mix. A metal stove-top percolator. Some baking supplies that are mostly in the freezer. I am 99% full everywhere! Still need one more family pack of chicken and pork chops...trying not to drain the bank account all at once😂 I don't think my husband needs to worry about canned goods or freezer food.

i'm convinced it is everything..
wife and i have always been careful shoppers. but,
i was getting maintenance done on truck... at dealership..

while wondering the parking lot... i realized there were no 2500 or 3500 trucks...
salesman came out and i told him i was looking for a 2500 or 3500.
he reported that they had none... -0- and if they did get one in that they were adding 10,000 or more and getting it... over msrp...
he advised that there is a bad shortage on a certain "chip" and gm can't get them in.

i've told the wife that it is ok to buy... whatever she needs.
she was surprised...

My husband has been reading up on the coming food shortage, and has stopped griping about the massive amount of food I've been stocking! That's a 180 for him😉
