  • Food Bucket lid question

    Hey Food Storage Gurus,

Okay can you tell me if this lid will be okay? It has the rubber seal still intact. I am just concerned that it looks like there are missing tabs or something.

ID:	108863 see how on the left it is lower then as the plastic goes to the right the edge moves up at an angle.

Around the outside edge of the lid it goes like this:

I am concerned that the lid won't seal properly or am I just being over cautious?

Let me know if you think I should get a different lid.

    Thanks,

Is this one of those lids with the little almost precut tabs?

If the rubber seal is intact, the STRUCTURE of the lid is not compromised and the lid seals down tight, you "should" be just fine.

It's hard to tell exactly what the issue is from the pics but I'm assuming that it's like the free bucket lids you get at the bakery wherein the gals there make little cuts on those tabs to make the lid easier to remove.

I've had buckets like that (tabs cut) in storage for decades without a problem.

if it snaps on and you have to pry it off, use it, but i'd use it with a mylar bag in side.

Thank you both for responding. It is one of those FREE buckets from the Bakery and I believe you are correct in that someone cut the tabs. I will double check the rubber seal and the integrity of the lid. I will also make sure that the lid snaps on guttentight :) sorry couldn't resist. I was planning to use Mylar bags on the inside , I learned real good from 1Admin on that part. Thanks again!

Those are the same lids I get on the buckets I get from the donut shop. They seem to snap down tight for me.
What a long, strange trip it's been.....
