Hunts Tomato Sauce test/best buy date

Trying to see how long some Hunts tomato sauce will store without going Rancid. This is the Hunts "meat flavored" Sauce 24 oz can. It had an November of 2014 best buy date. The color and smell were normal when opened. Cooked just fine. Tasted great and no GI problems afterwards.

I would think the acid in tomato sauce would greatly extend the life span of the can.

I have found that acid type canned goods are the ones that will go bad. But it will show , puffy top , hiss when opened , leak, off smell, that type of problem. If the can is tight and no signs as above most are a ok. I have been rotating cans since the 70's because of this. I mark the year on top with a sharpie, 06,09 etc.
