  • bologna in can

At the dollar store, canned bologna sliced a 2 oz. steel can. Taste ok, chicken in it but hey it is edible and should last a long time by the looks of the can. $1 per can

So was the amount of meat in the can 2 oz or was the metal can alone 2 oz?

I'm old and senile. 12 oz. can contents, net wt. When I opened it, it looked like a 12 oz. package of same, the kind that hangs in the meat section. Taste like Hillshire farms brand.

This came up on another board.. I picked up a can, but have not opened it yet.. I belong to a Campfire Dutch Oven cooking group, and they have challenges, events, etc... This winter they had a couple that revolved around only using ingredients from a TRUE dollar store.. I had never been in one. Found some "interesting" things.. But had to go back to find this after reading about it, and watching a YouTube video.

Mine was in slices, ^ it tasted like chicken bologna at Walmart chicken type kinda greasy but would help keep you on fats and protein SHTF come along. When they get the next batch in I will try it. Will let you know. I get the DAK ham there also because of the 3.50 price per 16 once can. It is good, I eat that often.

            speaking of DAK ham??

Had a hard time finding canned hams that were in an all metal tin.
Most I find have metal top and bottom and synthetic sides.
Don't have confidence in those living nearly as long as an all metal can.

So who has the all metal cans of canned ham?
            Thanks,
            John

My local dollar store had DAK and Bristol brand 16 oz. canned ham in an all metal can. Best by 5 of 2020. $3.50 per can.
