  • Local long term food

Most of you know what to buy , but for those??!!. Any store, wally world, save a lot etc.. Dried food in foil/myler package lasts a long time. Retort package lasts a long, long time. Retort is generally a foil and mylar pack made of both materials. Stew, meats, soup etc.. This package is sealed then passed over a radiation source that kills all the bacteria in it. Same as MRE's Cheap enough to get a little each week at almost any market. Canada has been big on this for years, even sells milk on the counter in bags with no cooling until use. Anyway just a thought to try and help.

I did not know mylar foods are treated by radiation. It works well... Radiation in the proper use is cool technology. I look for mylar products before canned if available. Been stocking up on can goods too lately...
