    The other night I went to try out my grain mill. My plan was to make some biscuits to go with dinner. To my dismay, I was missing a item. Yep, Sad to say cream of tarter was needed. So it got me thinking. I really need to check my baking supplies. Goes to show look at your supplies and what your recipes calls for.
    I did a quick list of some basic items. Please let me know if I have missed something. (another sad note- my mill didnt make it fine as flour seems its more for corn.)

    Flours:
    all-purpose
    cake
    self-rising
    baking soda
    baking powder
    salt
    yeast

    Sugars:
    granulated
    brown
    powdered
    butter or good quality margarine
    solid shortening

    Oils:
    vegetable
    canola


    Milk:
    milk (powered)
    buttermilk (powered)
    evaporated
    sweetened condensed
    cream
    eggs (powered)

    Chocolates:
    semi-sweet
    bittersweet
    unsweetened
    processed cocoa


    Raw nuts:
    pecans
    walnuts
    hazelnuts
    pine nuts
    almonds

    Raw seeds:
    sesame
    poppy
    sunflower
    coconut

    Extracts:
    vanilla
    lemon
    almond
    peppermint

    Spices:
    cinnamon (ground and sticks)
    nutmeg (ground and/or whole)
    ginger
    cardamom
    allspice
    cloves
    cream of tartar

    Misc:
    lemon juice

    What kind of mill do you use? Sometimes you have to run it through more than once.

      I found it for $15 at a estate sale. Estrella brand, all metal. I am sure I can use it for something.
