Been adding to our sugar supplies lately with the help of some great prices and some handy coupons. In the past month I've added 20 lbs. to what we had before, and as long as these deals hold out I'll keep on taking advantage of them.

an associate of mine just reported she put up 180 jars of fruit. some quarts, some pints, a few half pints this year.
I asked "how much sugar did you use? she reported using about 40 pounds of sugar.
guys, if canning fruit, preserving fruit, "putting up pickles" or anything similar is in your future, especially your paw future, 100 pounds of sugar ain't gonna be enough. this was a shock to me. the amount used in preserving the production!!
