  • Creating creative storage

We are finally getting settled into our new homestead. The inside is looking like the home my wife desires the outside is now a job that will keep me busy for days to come.
But this house is small. Smaller than any home we have ever had.
Guns and ammo have a home.
    Camping stuff too.
But where do I put all of these dang buckets with sealed Mylar goodies?
    The kids closets? A thought.
The cupboard inside? No room at all.
    The attic? Very hot.
The garage? The plan so far but very suceptable to mice. You know those creative country mice.
Will the garage temps harm my stuff?
There are no windows. And it's not too hot out there but we haven't hit summer yet

Are there some stored foods that do better or worse than others in a garage?

Besides, I could stain the buckets oak colored and build and entertainment center out of them. :p
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

You might end up with a raised bed.

Check behind the back of the couch, many have empty space that is hidden behind a flap of cloth. Many corner cabinets in kitchen have space that is next to impossible to use on a daily basis, but work well for other storage.
Survival question. What do I need most, right now?

Maybe you could make a greenhouse off the back of your house. Use the buckets to hold up the shelves that your plant will sit on.

that is one of the options I went with also you can try simple wall outmans with storage inside them they dont stick out in plain sight and sometimes offer extra seating. http://www.amazon.com/Dorel-Home-Pro...9788396&sr=1-3
Whats the point of having and not knowing how to use? You dont have a car and not know how to drive it do you? Having the tools for the job is worthless with out the knowledge of how to use it!

We put most of ours in a hallway closet, except for one of each item is in a kitchen cabinet so we "use what we store".

We had an entire closet at our old house and it even held some camping gear.

The more and more I try to find a spot indoors the garage is going to be the place.

I wonder how everything will hold up during the upcoming scorching ga summer?

You could use the buckets to make a platform to put your bed on instead of using a bed frame. Use a bed skirt to hide the buckets.
Store some of it in a trash can and top it with a piece of plywood. Then cover it with a table cloth to use as an accent table.

Look in the back of your closet on the floor. Usually a catch all or a place for shoes. Line up buckets and put a board across to hold stuff or shoes. Walk into closet, turn around, Look up. Lots of dead space above the door. Install a shelf to hold smaller items or canned goods.
