Suggestions wanted on which dehydrator to buy

[Long Shot]

I currently use a home made dehydrator; plywood box with 4 100 watt light bulbs and a computer fan for moving the air. It's been very functional, but a real pain to store. I'm looking at the Excaliber model and a few others but just can't seem to pick one. Any suggestion would be welcome.

We have an Excalibur 9 tray model and we are very satisfied with it.

However I've seen Alton Brown of Food Channel fame make jerky with a box fan dehydrator that he made and he said he prefers that over commercial made units.

im running a cheap american harvest . it works for the amouts we do. then again..i got some jerky soaking,,,and i thik i'll need to run two batches due to only 4-5 trays.

We broke down and bought a 2nd Excalibur this year because the wife found it easier to dry the apples versus making sauce and canning them. Course by the time the 2nd unit came in we were about done with the harvest. Oh well, we'll be running 2 at a time next year.

Bambi finds her way in front of the rifle again this fall and he/she will find it's way in there also.
