  • what sites do you visit?

I hope this thread is ok. I was wondering about websites that other members might recommend that relate to food storage. sites that are clean and not-for- profit. maybe you could tell us just one or two of your favorites so the newbies aren't running around the ether being drawn by garbage.
    three of my favorites are
bexarprepper utube, and dehydrate2store.com, and everythingunderthesun.com (check out her FREE book) she is an L.D.S. food storage specialist. She also has some informative utube videos,( Wendy Dewitt.)

Arf isn't bad and honestly has gotten much better there the last couple years. I joined in 06'ish there and I remember thinking "wow, so many keyboard commandos!"

What always kills me on survival related forums is the number of people that have been listed as being on there for years, have high post counts and then you see a post from them like "I'm going to START putting up some food, where do I begin?"

To me, your just playing around if you think your a survivalist or even a "prepper" and don't have food storage.
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

I think you are just being kind to about 80 percent of them, if they do not have a food storage plan, then they plan on taking it from others. 20 percent might not have come to that realization yet, but the rest have and some of the sick ones i think are planning on enjoying it. jimo

arfcom isnt bad. Its survival forum has been around for a while now. I like it do the fast response you can get when you post a question. But it's a gun forum. So from time to time if your topic is borderline you may get a "bad" reply LOL.

That said...you dont see a lot of the " i can carry 120lb ruck over 20 miles in 4 hours with 6k of elevation change" type replies attitudes like you do on some forums. The pond is to big over there for the "big fish in a small pond" mentality that runs wild on smaller survival only forums.Though from time to time you'll see someone who thinks they are something try to flex their internet muscles...it normally doesnt work out to well in the end, either by the dog pile that happens or the mods dropping the lock on the thread,

              i read-
              arfcom
              frugals
              here of course
              GT
survivalistboards from time time when a buddy sends me links there to laugh at the dufus owner
TSP- not much, dont care for the layout.
Hey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

Though we're prepping in various ways, food storage is #1 right now. We're hoping to have a year's supply in about three months. We haven't set our next food goal yet but I'm hoping to have two years supply of food by Christmas.

There have been a few changes in who/what I listen to/site visit. I have recently (even this week) dropped some due to differences of opinion such as hearing about how i will fail as a survivalist because I carry a modern day semi-auto rifle over an antiquated system and that it just leads to being gungho when instead they believe they can just hide in the hills with 20+ people and no one will ever find them (even with the road leading to their place), rather than finding balance, as in all things and "everyone knows that you can't hunt with them evil black rifles" as good as say a 1908 mauser LOL etc etc. I dropped some because of their personal agenda of being totally anti-government and they are all to willing to jump on any bandwagon that comes by without checking out facts. One dropped me for their espousing untrue anti-military and anti-leo statements on something they supposedly did and when his facts didnt check out he got mad at me for what he said and the bottom line is has nothing to do with survival and should have never been published.
I also dropped some "medical" folks who never actually showed anything or discussed in depth subjects and when asked specific questions would just say they couldn't answer due to jeopardizing their jobs. If you "can't say" then why are you on youtube?
Thats one of the things that has been consistent in the survival field is a plethora of untruths and folks just looking for hype and the internet has just seemed to encourage it because of so called anomity. That some guy wearing a mask and making noise about the injustice of the world does not make it fact and why people flock to that channel is just silly.
Some of the youtube are just for my enjoyment, because I like that person or what the videos are about, and you may not learn anything
