What kind of bucket opener do you all use? I'm gonna have to get one for the wife. She knows how to do it with tools but I think we need one in the storm shelter with the bucket of canned stuff and one in the closet of death with the buckets. They seem to be popular but didnt know if one edged out another or not. I want to be able to attach it to the bucket, most seem to be plastic with a lanyard hole which is doable.

Thanks, I just open them with my hands and never thought about it till the other day that she and my daughter cant just pry the lid off that way. I was gonna post a pic of mine and can't find it. I've been using gamma lids here lately and haven't had a need for my opener and now it's went missing..."one is none..."
Mine is a very thick and hard plastic opener that has a bung plug on the opposite side. I think bought it from Emergency Essentials.
That's probably not a lot of help though lolA desire changes nothing, a decision changes some thing's, but determination changes everything.

I have had this one for years and years and it works well for this lady's weak arms and wrists! I like the longer handle myself.

OK, you smart people, how the heck do you use it. I got one free with this large sealed bucket I ordered when I first started prepping. I want to open the bucket and no matter how many ways a finagled the opener, I couldn't get it to work. 3 broken fingernails and a log of bad words later I finally got it opened. Anyone got instructions?

I bought a couple of bucket openers at Lowes this morning for $1.38 ea. They're plastic but very sturdy looking.Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

I never knew there was a tool for opening these.....I haven't had trouble ...yet.
Probably the bottom ones of the stacks are gonna be a booger.
