Ok I've looked on here and didn't find what I was looking for so I'll ask. I saw on one of the small clips from that new show thats coming on soon from NATGEO. The lady was sealing cheese in cheese wax for long term storage. Looked on the web and there are lots of different ones you do this to. My question is has any one tried this or thought of it? They say the cheese ages when done this way but does not go bad..beats freeze dried cheese in a can or cheese whiz. Although I do like cheese whiz and crackers every now n then.:)

Hmmm, interesting question. Are you talking about making your own cheese or trying to preserve cheese that you have purchased?
In doing a little research, I found this web site that discusses how to wax your own cheese: http://kneadfulthingsnow.com/cheesewaxing.aspx
If you try it, let us know. According to the site: "The experts say that cheese can be stored this way for twenty-five years. However, a savvy Domestic Diva will rotate her waxed cheese regularly and NEVER allow it to sit too long. Rotation will ensure the highest quality possible." Even if it isn't 25 years, but 10 or 15 I would still consider that to be pretty good.
I hope this helps,
SC"Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
