How do you grind big seeds....like corn?

I have a counry living grain mill and it's marvelous at grinding wheat, but I tried grinding corn and it didnt feed the kernels. Has anyone used the Grizzly H7775 Cast Iron Corn / Grain Mill? Is it worth 25 bucks?

i chuck mine into a cheap corona style, then into a finer mill. I used the back to basics to make finer meal.

I wonder how well these things stand up against popcorn? I store popcorn because I like the taste of the meal and it's more convenient to buy.

The same thing happened to me with my electric mill. They're all different so I would try another mill if you have one. I've never tried grinding corn in our Country Living mill. I would try to adjust it on the side to coarse and maybe you can get it cracked first and then run it through again on a finer setting.

pop corn "jumps" out, but grinds up in all of mine LOL

I'd like to hear how the popcorn goes. I know some one who tried it but didn't like the results. Always been curious about that.

Tammy at Dehydrate2store showed grinding corn with a cast iron grinder on one of her videos. She put it through twice I believe but it looked good.

you'll have to go to the Country Living web site and order the larger auger for corn and beans, it cost about 45.00 with postage. I got tired of the hand crank and have since put an ele motor on the thing for about 100.

Wow, that's just what I needed. I didnt think to look on their website for an attachment...sometimes I am pretty dense. I ordered a cheap "corn" mill from Amazon. I think I will get the Corn Auger for my country living mill and compare them. I will let you know how they work.

I put an electric belt drive motor on mine too. Hand grinding is soul destroying work, even with a good mill. I have plans to run it from a bicycle chain drive if the power ever goes out.

BTW: Popcorn meal rocks. It has a very nice flavor that blows away store bought cornmeal (of course). There is nothing better than popcorn bread.
