  • LTS...how many years is it good for?

Hello all, we are going to do 10 (5) gallon buckets...flour-pancake mix--sugar--rice ect.. My question is how long is it good for. All these websites state 30 year shelf life but---holy expensive!!! Also, I am saving for 7 people..we have about 2 months worth of mre's and freeze dried food in case we have to fill the trucks and bug out...what else food wise would be good to store? Thanks for your answers and your time...Damon

Store what you normally use and need. Use the buddy system at the market (buy 1,2,3 extra of whatever it is you want, or whats on sell). The Mormons have an extensive plan on preparedness (LDS preparedness manuel, 4/19/2011 posted by Barfife; free download). Pilot crackers, dry beans, canned and dried fruit, candy, oatmeal, tuna. Cooking oil,tea and coffee. You could go on and on. What ever it is you use. MRE's and freeze dried is great (they go on sale from time to time) I try to buy only when something is on sale.
