  • MRE Entree Review: Buffalo Chicken

Stopped by the local "surplus" store this weekend and picked up a MRE because I hadn't tried the main dish before. The entree was Chicken, pulled with Buffalo Style Sauce. It was surprisingly good. The chicken, while more like shredded than pulled, was plentiful and the sauce had just a little bite. If you like food that will melt your teeth (like Protus), then you'll have to doctor it up, but I enjoyed it as is. It's a dish I will add for diversity to my protein storage.

hey having hot sauce in the PAW will make you king. nothing else is going to mask the nasty taste of muskrat when you are eating it like a good firey sauce. i mean if it works for Taco Bell's nasty food it'll work on anything.

Made a decent burrito the other day with some of the chicken with salsa MREs. I took a big tortilla and spread some refried beans on it and topped it with the chicken with salsa packet and some shredded mozzarella and microwaved it for a bit. It actually wasn't too bad. Too much filling for the tortilla so I will remember that for next time. But the flavor was good. The pressed and formed chicken was probably the worst thing about it but I never liked that stuff anyway.
