There are alot of applications for pedal power. In Rawles book Patriots, they use it to recharge the batteries, i have seen several utube videos as washers, seen another applications for (using a dryer housing and drum) to spin to get honey from the honey comb in your hive.

I have mine set up like that also but until the power goes, I'll use the eletric, I think if he reads his manual, he'll find that he may be turning it a tad to fast.It may ruin the grinding plates
