Does anyone know or have experience with long term storage of various nuts, like cocktail peanuts, almonds, cashews, etc? I love to eat them and figured they would be great to have if TSHTF. Real healthy and good for protein, fiber, and the good fats. I was thinking it might be best to just leave them in the original container and put the containers in Mylars with O2 absorbers. Maybe overkill, or maybe not enough. It seems like just an added layer of protection to have the mylars, whereas, if I took them out of their original container and put in mylars, then it seems like I would just be making it worse by undoing their normal shelf life and packaging. Any thoughts? I'm about to make the thousand dollar grocery run and that is on the list.
