  • Sitting on a gold mine!!!

Evidently I did not know these things aged like fine wine... Like the song says "I guess I didn't know"

    Get busy child...

We sold these cans for $10.95 each or less in 1998 and 1999 Evidently it has increased in price 5X LOL. That's pretty amazing, some would say "unbelievable" LMAO.

It's been a year or so now (probably Jinxing myself even saying this) but damn near every year we get some odd call from someone who "inherited" or "found under a staircase" or "my Mom died and she had..." a bunch of old storage food. They evidently google our name -as the cans are so old they have our old FL address and phone number on them. Then they ask "is it still good?" Which of course is a very vague question. So I ask them "open some and try". They never want to do that.

Evidently one of those types figured they would profit from it. Holy Crap. That's almost as good of appreciation in price as gold bought in 1999 to now would be.

You may be sitting on a gold mine boyz!!! LMAO

Warning- whole post is in jest. If you have 25 year old food storage it's not worth anything IMO, please don't try to sell it.

I got rid of my 25-year-old storage food and replaced it with newer stock. I have some that's only good for another 10 years, which is about what I'm good for😂 I have so much and now due to our circumstances, it's a lifetime supply for me, while one workbench in the garage holds a lifetime supply of protein drinks for my husband. I've almost bought more recently, only to ask myself "Why?"

I still have some vacuum-packed beans and other dry goods that pre-date Y2K. I cooked up some of the beans with a little baking soda, and they were just as good as fresher dried beans. Rice? Same thing...sometimes you just have to know when to focus elsewhere.
