Hi everyone. Newbie here. I found some 8 oz. stainless steel flasks at Walmart and I thought they might be good for bugout bags. Anyone think this is a good idea?

For two reasons. One filled with Everclear for medicinal and trade use, and one filled with Hennessey Paradis Extra Cognac for those times when a drink would just fix things right up.Jerry D Young

My youngset son always wanted a metal flask for the cool factor. A few years ago he got one for Christmas from his sister. He took it with him everywhere for a while. BTW, TSA agents must admire them as well because they wanted an extra look at the one my son stowed in his bag, interesting silhouette I guess. LOL. My son still enjoys his and has it in his bug out bag filled with water of course. I think its too much weight for the size for a BOB personally but its his bag.

I would have to agree with the others on the alcohol usage in your flask.
But in a pinch, or lets say you got caught with your pants down when SHTF or some other scenario: some water is better than no water.
I still drink, so when they pass the bottle over you can count on me to take a swig.... ;)"Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing"- Optimus Prime
