  • jelly and what we'd need to make more!.

our jar of satsuma jelly had been emptied... i couldn't find any jelly this morning for my warmed up biscuits.

i explained the great need for jelly when my wife appeared. she rounded the corner and came back with a jar of muscadine jelly with the
    numbers 10-9-15 on the lid..
near 'bout 7 years old and "good. real good."

so i asked "what would you need to cook up some more jelly?"

    1. grapes/muscadines
    2. sugar
    3. sure jel (pectin)

    so, i asked again...
if i made a fire outside or in the wood stove (not yet installed!) you could put up jelly?
    yes. she confirmed..
time to check on amount of sugar and pectin that is in the pantry!

You could also make jam with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, etc. and chia seeds for thickening, along with some kind of sweetener. It's all stovetop stuff.

sho nuf good. i asked her "what method did you use?" so i can tell folks on the internet.
answer. "followed instructions on the sure jell lable"

That's what most people do because following the Sure Jel instructions works! I personally use chia seeds because I have a lifetime supply of them😂
