  • Question on Pelican Case

I have a question on a recently aquired pelican type airtight case for free. I want to store food in it. I took some pics (attached) with a 5gl bucket for size comparison and grabbed some food stuff to put in it for size comparison as well. I was thinking about storing rice packaged "as is" in it. I am wary of putting liquid stored stuff in it like the spam shown because if one leaks it will get real messy and possibly ruin other stuff. I mainly want to put either rice n beans or canned items in it because it is well protected, airtight and has a suitcase type roller and handle system. Do I still need to mylar the rice or will it be good in the airtight case? I know some stuff shown on the storing food video wasn't mylared. All I know is I got something worth alot that holds alot and they dunno what they gave up and my head is spinning with ideas!!! I did try storing ammo in, whew way too heavy to move by my lonesome!!
Thoughts, comments??? and no you can't have it:) LOL

I think your best bet is to sell or trade it to me ;)

My first thought was for electronics, important do***ents, etc.

I would use it for electronics or other fragile things. Put your rice & beans in mylar with O2 absorbers and store in buckets or barrels.

I don't really have alot of electronics, paperwork and fragiles that would be going if SHTF.

          flashlights, lanterns?
          emergency radio?
          walkie talkies?
          birth certificates?
          high school diploma?
          college degree?
          passport?
one or two small board games?
I can think of plenty of things that could be used in an airtight container for SHTF...

Or that would make one kickin' First Aid Kit. The size would allow lots of supplies, the wheels will of course help with mobility, and it should be water/air tight so you don't have to worry about the contents being destroyed. I wish that I could et a couple of those myself.
