  • Got a Good Deal Today

I stopped at my local gun store today and they had a used Ruger 10-22 on the rack. Synthetic stock and looks new, no wear. Now, I've been wanting to get one of those so I have something with cheap ammo to shoot and the owner said that since I was a regular customer, he'd let me have it for $100. Needless to say, it has a new home now and tomorrow I'll try it out. I was looking online at 22LR and found the same or better price for bulk at the local WalMart.
What a long, strange trip it's been.....

The 10/22 is one of the best weapons there is. They are simple to break down and clean, shoot cheap and accurate, high cap mags are availible, they can be tricked up to meet any needs. That is a great deal, congrats!

That is a good deal! Congrats.

Best deal I saw on them years and years ago was one Sports unlimited chain running them for $125. brand new. This was mid 90's. I bought 4, another for myself and Christmas presents for my nephews.

Haven't seen them much less than $200. for a couple years.

Only problem i've had is common to Ruger weapons- the sights break easily. I've had to replace them on a Mini 14, 10/22 and Mark II every Ruger weapon I've owned for any period of time.

If i'm not mistaken, almost all of the "important" (factory) parts for rugers have to be order through someone with a ffl and they want the "broken" part before they ship the replacement. I looked into it years ago trying to get extra internal parts for a mini 14. Maybe times have changed.

Absolutely perfect. I ran 200 rounds through it and it never had an issue. This is fun, being able to do that without figuring the cost of a day out, but now I have to get some toys to hang on it. First a scope, then some of the spare parts and a boatload of ammo. Thursday I get to pick up the bipod and rail for the AR 10 and go zero that one in. I think I done good with the Ruger, but I do need to find a GOOD high cap mag for it.

I tried the shooters ridge and that didn't work, couldn't get more than 6 rounds in the mag before it jammed. I've been looking at the Tactical Innovations mags and the feedback on them looks good. I did pick up a ramline (used from a friend), but the case seperated in half and I'll try gluing that back together. I'll have to check on the eagles, thanks for the input.

There is always some after market stuff out there, found midway has some 10-22 parts.

An excellent deal. We have two of the Ruger 10/22's. The wife has the stock model, I have a custom Bull barrel by Green Mountain, custom stock, etc. The 22's compliment the Bushmaster, the 12 gauge, XD 40, XD 9mm, and the Marlin Model 60.

Excellent price.. The Rugers are so fun and be tricked out
