Their is nothing like some testing to see where you REALLY stand on something.
No "participation awards", no "honorable mention", just pass or fall on basic sets of skills.
What if you failed repeatedly, would you be crushed? Would you blame the trainer "this is unattainable, he just set this up to make himself look better" and misc. BS. Or would it make you realize the need for further training?
I experienced reactions from someone that I've known for a long time in regards to not passing something similar.
Honestly I hate to sound like an elitist or an arsehole, but I absolutely cannot stand the cry baby mentality!
So you think it was hard? (Even though it wasn't) and you found you weren't up to the task? Well then buck up sugar lump and train more. Maybe don't come with an over exaggerated idea of where you truly are. Maybe instead of beootching about ammo prices, make the INVESTMENT in developing your skill at arms.
I lose all respect for crybabies.... I've failed at a LOT of crap in my life, but you don't let that beat you. It's when you STOP TRYING to learn is when you truly fail.
I think this is the #1 reason so many won't truly take training seriously, they are afraid of losing. Wake up call- you can "lose" now when their is time to remedy skills, or you can "lose" later when it might mean your life, your family's life. I'll take my lumps losing now and get better while I can.
So in your training, make sure your testing your skills here and there. Timers don't lie, counting hits on targets don't lie, stopwatches don't lie, they are impartial judges of our abilities.
