I'm just curious as to if anyone on here has one and how do you like it? I currently have a IJK 6.5-20x50 scope and 2 3/4 lb competition trigger. The thing shoots great and considering it's only zeroed to maybe 300 yards. I've hit a goat at around 700 yards with it. My next mod is a new barrel but which one. I've researched Proof barrels. Only downfall I find a little is price. Plus weight isn't a huge concern for me. So I'm leaning more towards a heavy barrel with brake to specifically help with recoil. That's where I get confused. I know I want to stick to a 180 GR bullet so that rifling is set. Should I get a longer than original barrel? Brownells or Krieger. Any other companies you guys know about? Krieger is by far my favorite at this point. Opinions welcomed. Just want secondary thoughts. Goal is to have a 1,000 yard gun.

Your scope is surviving? The crapnell "Bushnell" on mine didn't last more than 100 rounds or so. The internal glass broke off the tube and turned 180 every shot. Smack the scope and almost normal again. Did that every shot. I hate giving them a bad/ crap build status but I'll never trust that company again with anything. I've heard really good things about 300 WSM. Mine loves 180 too. With I could jump up to shooting strictly 190s with the right barrel but nearly impossible to find. Not bushnell but a simmons.
Its held ok. But morebof a clarity issue past 400.
Ive got a few hundred down it. Only issue was the bolts get sticky if you rapid fire it.Hey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!Comment

Sticky bolt is probably from the heat you think? Also. Do you have trouble finding that ammo at all and what's the furthest you've been effective with it if you don't mind me asking.Comment

I have bought it in years. Price got to high. So i put up a few hundred rounds and retired it to the safe except for hunts. I could still get it at chinamart in win and rem flavors but it was around 40+ per 20..it dropped down to 30 for a bit.Originally posted by Machrism82 View Post

It holds engry well according to the books..but drops hard. Iirc at 400at my zero its 38 inches..but fps is still just @1500-2000+-.with the 180s.
