Reminds me of reports from Afghanistan/Soviet war where the muj found that IIRC BTR60's could be breached in about this same area with AK fire that would often hit the feet of the driver as well.

Lot of exposed components ......etc etc.
You'd think they'd be hardened a lil better...but then again they are probably engineered to break apart upon an ied ...leaving the armored crew area in better shape....
Where there's a will there's a way :pHey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

I saw a comment asking about the tires if they were solid...
When I was a All Wheeled Vehicle Repairer (63W) the newer 5 Tons had a thing called Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) this allowed the driver to adjust the inflation based on what they were driving on (sand, pavement, etc). Now fast forward this with run flat tires (punctures seal up from inside) they don't have to be solid. Now if the tires are chewed up by a .50 cal or something bigger that's different than being shot with x39 or 5.56.
That's a pretty good sized area to leave exposed."It's a trap!!!!" -- Admiral Ackbar
