    Thoughts?
For some odd reason...I keep looking at them (savage ..CZ...and the mini Mauser by zatazsa (sp) ..)
I got bolt guns galore ...but I keep thinking it would be a cool umm...ammo compatible longer range rifle to work along side an AK.
Thoughts...ideas....cons for me is the set up cost....cuz I'm cheap LOL

I went through something similar with another caliber.

Short answer is one of the guns is going to sit for a long time, unused.

Going to assume you are setup with an AK and have a lot of ammo to feed it.

You could pick up a bolt gun with a different length barrel and different rifling twist than the AK and get a little different performance out of the ammo, but it will be marginal. So now you will have a slow repeater with long reload times and a fast repeater with short reload times.

If you are going to tinker with reloading recipes, head spacing, rifling twists, barrel lengths on the x39, then the bolt gun is your answer.

After that it will boil down to how much fun can you have with the bolt gun in that caliber (and in the same caliber you already own a gun for). Only you can determine that.

Online I'm seeing 3-500.. then you gotta buy glass...I think the zataszas run at that 300$ mark...
I'm just thinking ammo capability on a two man set up....that doesn't plan to engage but may need something a Tad more surgical than what an AK could deliver...just war gaming in my head really LOL

Did this same thing with my .308 caliber... three semi autos and one bolt gun. It has its merits... but for those who dont have food, ammo, med supplies, etc. I would not recommend it. I was gun heavy when I got on board.

if in a MAG or full pledge group a ammo/firearm/magazine standard is a good thing... so having ammo compatability between your semi/bolt guns makes sense (logisticly) for stocking up on ammo.
