Has anyone bought The century arms C39 "all American parts" AK in 7.62x39 yet?

I'm very leery about Century with their past reputation, not Just with AKs but with the CETME builds and FAL builds. I'm more familiar with their FAL mess as I have helped several friends get their Century's running correctly mostly by swapping parts... I digress, these seem to be touted as "all new made in USA parts", so no wore out and out of spec parts kit guns to worry about. I'm rethinking my main battle rifle again and I only have one AK currently. I have more guns in my safe then I need or will use and thinking on doing some trading for one. Spent the night watching You Tube on them but want some input from the collective here.

    Thanks

I have not... But it seems James Yeager has been "testing" one... And you can "rent" it to use in one of his classes... I am wanting to get to his Fighting Rifle Class and if I was going I would rent that C39 for it.

That video was good...they ran 1000 rounds thru it and only 1 hiccup due to the magazine not feeding the round all the way up. It got so hot the plastic grips were melting off. The rail became loose and Yeager said he was going to replace it cause the other one was junk.

Looked like a good test to me.

Have you watched the same test with the Glock?... They melted the guide rod out of the glock but the cool thing it kept going even without it...

I have not seen that video...I will have to check it out. At least CA stepped up and took the Pepsi challenge. They might be turning things around.

Yea, everything I have seen about this C39 has been nothing but good, almost to the point of "Paid Advertising" good.

I like this idea of a US made AK pattern rifle and at a reasonable price. I like AR but would rather #1 the 7.62x39 over the 5.56 and #2. Dont want any "Hacked together or odd ball, one off rifles"... So to shoot 7.62x39 I am pretty much stuck with an AK. PTR makes a version that uses AK mags but the rest of the rifle is basically an HK91. I am stilling doing research if it uses enough of HK91 parts that I would only have to stock a few spare parts to make it a reasonable alternative to AK.

I would prefer the 7.62x51 but can not afford the feed for one of those animals.

If the choice is between Century and PTR, that's an easy one... The choice between AK and HK91 is much more complex. Get one and test it for the board...

Yes that was one of the first videos I watched in my query. I am very concerned with Century's past reputation and track record. James test was interesting, and amazing.
I'm absolutely positive any rifle given to Youtube or magazine writers are "custom" builds for said people and given special attention before being shipped to them. They are not just picked out of the Que. Sad but true fact on how that works.

I cant deny it ran like a champ though to say I'm interested is an understatement. I currently have a Maddi with at least a case or so through it with minimal problems. but 922r has me adding US parts to configure it the way I'd like and 2 is one and all...
