And bought my first AK 74. It's a metal skeleton folding stock.

I can't remember if I've ever seen shot a 5.45 AK before? Tons of AK rounds down range over the years but I can't remember if any of them were 5.45??

It's an Arsenal. Got the 5.45 for a specific purpose, the lighter recoil being more acceptable to certain optics.

Not used to the metal skeleton stock, but that's just a function of training.

Would love to see these Arsenals start to come back down in price, but as of yet they are still bringing decent dollars.

Anyone with a 74 got any specific tips or recommendations?

Thought you were about to say the nasty words AR there for a second.

Keep an eye on SGAmmo for deals on cases. They are getting in the surplus Spam can stuff from time to time and some of the commercial as well.

And just checked. They have the surplus for a good price including the 2100 round cases.

Just be sure to clean, it has the corrosive primers

Eventually, we will get you to submit to the dark (rifle) side.

Actually, mags have been hard to come by. Magpul has done a AK mag for the 7.62, but not sure about the 5.45. Something to keep an eye out for maybe.

I heard it was an AR that created those broken cinder blocks and slayed the unicorns.

Well cinder blocks are hollow and what 1 inch thick .....so I can see how an AR would make easy work breaking one.......then again.....they break being dropped the wrong way....:p

Truth be told I think silver bullets fired from a pre ban autographed rifle signed by Mr.Kalashnikov himself killed them LOL
