New EO on imported weapons

The Obama administration unexpectedly announced two new gun control measures on Thursday, including one that would curb the import of military surplus weapons -- in a move that could anger collectors.

While so far they are only talking about US surplus weapons (yeah, those Garands and M1 Carbines are causing soooooo much trouble), the text isn't available yet on the WH page. But...

Pretty sure the import ban will end up being a lot more ranging than people imagine. Plus the NFA Trust loophole closures. Not sure how that's going to affect folks on here, but something to pay attention to.

So if you are on the fence about buying (and I have a hard time saying it) an imported AK or Combloc weapon probably to include Mosin Nagants, now might be the time to look at pulling the trigger. It only takes one overzealous .gov worker to declare anything resembling a military style rifle as "surplus."

We still openly attack law abiding Americans, pretending to be a representative of the people, all the while arming syrian terrorist aka freedom fighters including al queerda with the very weapons, magazines and ammunition we want to remove and even give them much worse tools of destruction such as explosives with no background check. I can't shoot a mosin nagant at a paper target for nostalgia and fun but mr problem solver here can bust a cruise missile that will accomplish nothing!?!

What do they consider a short-barreled shotgun?? The 18.5 inch barrel on my Savage 320 pump??

the guy is over stepping for sure. even on obummer care he's bypassing senate/congress to pass it through which is blatantly dis regarding the constitution. whats bad is hie openly admits it " ohh..in normal times i would do it properly.."

I have had a very poor out look on the possibility of "going back" to a "free republic" for a while... The Propaganda Media and most "Officials" keep pushing this "Progress" agenda and most of my peers are too busy too notice that their "Progress" is directly attached to our demise.

But in the last few months it has gotten worse... I lately think I have the feelings that a few of the awake Germans must have had in the 1930s. It is scary when training manuals and educational materials say that our "Founding Fathers" were extremist, terrorist and would not be welcome today. That people who believe in Individual Rights and State's Rights are possible terrorist and extremist.

How did we get here? How do we get back to a "free republic"? How do we peaceably work within a system that makes us criminals just because of our beliefs?

It is so far gone now that it's most likely too late to work within the system. The republicans are just as bad as the democrats and there is no way either them or the media will allow a third party to upset their applecart.

I am not advocating revolution, but I fear that Obama will push the country to that level before his term expires. He actually would probably like that, then he could seize power and become the complete dictator that he seems to want to be.
