  • glock repair - free??

an associate made a trip to smyrna/marietta area (cobb county, ga. just north of atlanta)
    to the glock facility...
he had a wore out/abused glock and one in slight need of repair.

the fella at glock asked him if he wanted to wait... it would be about 1hr 45 min.
they left and went to a local gun store.
on returning both guns were oiled and cleaned. all damaged worn parts were replaced.. and
    No charge.
he was told that someone could ship in a glock at owners expense and owner could recieve the same
    no charge service.

FYI. if your glock is in need of repair.

i'd recommend a phone call to glock before just shipping in a weapon, but... the source has been reliable in the past.

Look around and find a local Glock Certified Armorer and they will repair it on site free in most cases. I've only had mine in once and that was to replace the mag catch in 99 while stationed at Ft Hood and walked out of there with a repair, hat pin, sticker and the new catalog.
Glock should be able to help you find a local source

I'd like to add something on this. This is only for "normal" wear and tear repairs.
If you put in aftermarket barrels, mag releases, lighter/heavier spring kits, etc. shot your buddies special reloads, ran lead bullets, changed the caliber, drug it behind your pickup, allowed a zombie to chew on it then you are on your own.

the fella told me that glock told him that they didn't replace the barrell or the slide for free.
