That crappy Savage.... with that POS Springfield Armory 2nd Gen Government scope..... Or so I HEARD someone say on the internet that both of these are not sub MOA units LOL.

I figured I had to get some more practice in, cause when I turn 40 it's all over with- or so I HEARD on the internet ;) LOL

200 yard zero on these scopes makes for just a bit low at 100

That Savage Mk II in .22 LR I have is dead on accurate. As accurate as any rifle out of the box with factory ammo. Unfortunately Matt and I haven't gone head to head yet, but we do have a bet going.

Great shooting. More details please, model, caliber, etc. I used to have model 110 that I really liked. I may need to get it back from the Son in Law.
Survival question. What do I need most, right now?

Savage 110 Tactical heavy barrel in .308. Ammo was 168 grain SBTHP, full value wind at around 5mph, temp was high sixties. First shot was a cold bore shot. Not saying I'm good cause it's been years since I did any real work with a boltgun.

Their was a "discussion" some time back from a former poster here that stated that these rifles and these scopes were total POS. Same guy got into it with several members over his comments that basically guys over 40 need to just hang it up- not do H2H training unless for fun, etc. etc. He wanted to send everyone over 40 to some magical place called "Carousel" wherever that is.... LOL

Good shooting. I looked at that savage when I was shopping my 308's

you know, once I was told my 10/22 with 25 round mags cant be used as a defensive weapon.................. wamp wamp wamppppppppppppp

When I zeroed my scope couple of weeks ago, I was shooting crappy wally world bulk ammo and nailing mass at 100 in the wind.

Cant wait on Dec 21 (funny hahah) going to my brothers and to the range. Going to see how far my .308 shoots.

I can't begin to remember how many times I have read a post from some 'expert', declaring how such and such piece of equipment is garbage. Now days I just do a quick scan, and ignore them. Too often those opinions are pure speculation or the result of Walter Mitty escapism.

I happen to own several nice pieces of weaponry that have been totally slammed by some experts as being worthless crap. Each and every one of them have performed beyond my wildest expectations in both accuracy and durability.

The Savage 110 rifle in .308 is one of them. Now I just shake my head and move on.

Yep, according to some internet armchair experts most of my firearms are junk. Heck, Colt makes crummy 1911's, Mosin Nagants are inaccurate trash, Mini 14's are just total scrap.................................
                Y'all know what I mean.
The only Savage I have is left hand Model 93, 22 magnum, non-accutrigger. With a cheap Walmart scope it will shoot Winchester 40 grain JHP's into 1.75" at 100 yards. Yep, inaccurate piece of trash. I knew I should have bought a $2,000 Anshutz.

I stopped listening to the "armchair experts" when they started slamming my Hi-Point .45. Okay, yeah, it was a brick, but the dang thing just kept working. At 25 yards it shot better than I did. So many people were willing to write it off as "cheap junk" that I was amazed. Since I don't have a lot of money, I tend to end up with less expensive guns. The ones I have kept have one thing in common: they work. They go bang when I pull the trigger. Some are more accurate than others, but then again, I'm past the point where I'm writing my initials on the target anyway. (Combination of eyes and muscle tone, I think.) Anyway, the bottom line is Does it work? Will it do what you're expecting it to do when you need it to do it? If it passes that test, then I say you got a winner.

Yeah my Savage Axis .223 is one of those cheap POS rifles, too. Bought for $200 used with scope already mounted; shoots consistent 1.75" groups at 100 yds. Too bad I wasted my money! There have been a lot of deer shot and a lot of bellies filled with crappy guns; except on the internet, where the 'experts' live.

If I do my part my savage 111 will do around that around 100 as well. And that's with plain Jane 180 grain win XP. But mines a POS compared to the 10FP model ...junky optic and stock. Optics are what really limits it on my end...any thing psst that 250 -300 mark and there's a ton of optic failure.aka fuzziness poor reticule etc
