What caliber. I haven't used this version but I used to have a winchester 92 in 30-30 that I wish the ex-wfe hadn't gotten her hands on. But I'm not bitter :).
Survival question. What do I need most, right now?

Gun looks really great. I assume them mean .45 LONG Colt. I will definitely be checking it out. What are they charging you for it? I see the MSRP is $599. I would assume again the price is closer to $500. I need a new lever action and this might fit the bill. GB

A friend has one in 357 magnum. He really likes it.
If I had the means, I wouldn't mind one in 44 magnum or 45 Colt, to go along with my single action revolvers.

Protus - one of mine is a Ruger Blackhawk 45 Convertible. Comes with two cylinders, 45 Colt and 45 ACP. kinda like a Single Six on steroids.

45 Colt is the correct term. The word "long" is a slang term added in the late 1800's to differentiate between the 45 Colt cartridge and the 45 S&W Schofield cartridge, both of which could be used in the Colt Single Action Army pistol.

I can only add that my .357mag version does well. Weapon (to me) is well balanced and compact enough to fit easily even in a small vehicle.

The one shortcoming is the crappy safety on the bolt...feels like it's going to fall off at any moment. Common sense weapon safety procedures make this a non-issue, but be aware of it.
