    Panic buying that is. Since yesterday most of my regular online ammo sales sites are out of stock on just about everything except the high priced specialty rounds...and even those are going quick too. It's a repeat of 2008 and 2010.

    Pretty much all .223/5.56, .308/7.62x51, 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP bulk ammo is getting snatched up like it was free. 7.62x39 is still in stock at some places, but I figure that won't last long since its major platform was named in one of the debates as one of the dastardly rifles that us lowly citizens don't need since nobody can control the evil contained within.

    Glad I talked a couple of folks into stocking up pre-election. What was once there is gone now and according to one dealer prices on some brands have already gone up 10% overnight.

    It went nuts at work today everyone is in a panic. I just laughed, they all want guns now but dont realize they dont work without ammo. one guy even wants an AR and "at least 100rds"

      There is no shortage of ammunition in NE Ohio/Pa. - in fact 7.62x39 has been on sale -1000 rounds for $220.00 - 5.56 looked about the same

          If you can get 556 for $220 a thousand, you'd better buy it all.

            I am close enough to PA to drive anywhere to get a thousand rounds of 5.56mm for $220.00. Hook a feller up and tell me where in PA such a deal can be had.

              I went in Wallyweird today expecting to see the stor bought out of ammo but they were in full supply and prices were the same.

                I would believe that 5.56 at 220 would be the steel rounds which is fine for me. Chinamart around here sells that Tula brand for $4.59 a box. They also have the 7.62 for the same price. Bought 10 boxes each yesturday. The only ammo around here hard to get is the Federal bulk pack 22lr.

                I had a buddy of mine who gave me call the day after the election asking me "what do I do what do I do". He has always talked about getting an AR. Told him find a stripped lower and we will build one. I told him stay calm, he was huffing a puffing like he just got done running a race.

                MY wifes Uncle owns a gun shop and he said Buss is good and asked me on Thursday if would be able to come and today but I had to decline because I have Boyscouts. I would have liked to talk to some of these people and see if I can get some to think about preps other than guns and ammo.

                  If he was huffing a puffing like he just got done running a race, I wouldnt get him an AR.
                  Get him to relax a bit and hand him an H&R handi rifle.

                    same "buddy" will be huffin and puffin when it goes bad and still looking to you to fix it. The writing has been on the wall for years now, this wasnt a suprise so whatever he "needed" he shoulda alreay had before big o #2
                    I have taken the stance of not helping them right now because i dont want them to have an equalizer in case it does go south. someone like that might be the first ambush attempt to get what i have

                      If the first thing they're looking for is guns, you're probably right!! I've had a couple of co-workers ask about putting away food. Those I'll help out in a heartbeat :cool:. If they're looking for guns...no deal :mad:

                        Its not like he doesn't have a battle rifle more like he thinks the gret gun ban is going happen tomorrow. he has been getting his family around and prepared for things to come, water, garden, storied food. Iwas just funny hearing him carry on. Told him that if he reacts like that when the country and picks a ruler then how are you going to handle something greater like Sandy. Do you realy think that would be good for your kids to see there old man run around with his head cut off.
