  • Remmington UMC ammo

I was at Wally World today and noticed that they had a 'Mega Pack' of Remmington UMC .45 ACP for $98. That's a LOT cheaper than most .45 ACP so I bought one. I've read reviews that it's decent training/practice ammo. There's mixed reviews...some say it's accurate some say not...some say it's dirty, some say not. Now, I know with semi-autos that YMMV. I usually shoot Winchester Super-X and can count the number of FTF or stove pipes I've had (ever) on one hand. I'm planning on giving it a try the next range visit.

My question is: Has anyone here tried this ammo and, if so, what's your opinion of it? I shoot a Springfield Mil-Spec 1911 that's definitely more accurate than I am. How do I know? I let someone that's light years better than me shoot it and put me to shame with my own gun LOL.

I reload so, if nothing else, I'll reuse the brass.

I've never used the 45, but I've had good results with the 40. Out of my XD, it shoots well, and where I want it to shoot.

It's bulk pack .45 and won't be match ammo. The difference in accuracy probably won't even be seen by most folks and is typically "good enough" for range work.

Not a bad price on it either.

I use this in my S&W 1911 and my para and have used it for quite a while with no problems.

I've shot it in my 3" 1911 and several different 5" 1911's and have not had any issues.

I use the umc 9 bulk when can buy it and have good results with it shooting matchs competitively and never had any issues that where due to the ammo. So should be good for the 45 .
Whats the point of having and not knowing how to use? You dont have a car and not know how to drive it do you? Having the tools for the job is worthless with out the knowledge of how to use it!

Thanks folks. Was at Wally World and stumbled accross them. I hadn't noticed the mega pack before and couldn't resist the price. Now I can't blame my crappy shooting on the ammo LOL.
