        when i've only got a .22 it's hard to imagine a tank..

          How's about a 6X6 with a .50 cal. mounted on a swivel on the dash? $5,000-$8,000 for the 6X6 and ??? for the .50 cal. It isn't a tank but I'm pretty sure folks would make a path when you're comin' down the street! LOL

            Anyone seen the movie 'Tank' with James Garner??? My hero LOL He had a Sherman Tank.

              I remember that movie from the 80s. It was a good one!

                  That is my thinking too... If it was not illegal to have one and Militia's were not such a "bad" word. Then maybe there would be more Militia's and maybe some of those would have enough members to donate enough money to have such expensive "toys". So just maybe we could keep that "balance" of power tipped in the favor of the "people".

                  Highly unlikely that too many people would be trying to drive them down the road (not to mention that they could not get "DOT" approved).

                    we should have the rightr to own whatever firearms we wish to.. trhe government should keep their nose where it belongs, meaning to provide for the defense of the counrry and only the things that the constitution allows.
                    I came into this world kicking and screaming while covered in someone elses blood. And have no problem with going out the same way

                      There is an guy here in the north bay who owns about 8-9 vintage tanks, he rents them to movie makers and drives them in parades. But back to the subject, I think we should be able to have any weaponry we can afford, but they should be registered. To make sure they don't end up in the wrong hands.

                        I do hope you are being sarcastic! exactly how would registering them keep them out of criminals hands?? Criminals by their very definition do not obey the law. Besides, if the ownership of tanks and other heavy weapons is desired to keep tyranny at bay then allowing the gov to control them kinda defeats the purpose ,, DON'TCHA THINK????

                            Yes was. I know how easy it is for criminals to get guns and any thing else they want. I grow up in iron triangle. I've dealt with wannabe gangster my hole life.

                              i just saw a report that our gov't GAVE a bunch of f-16 ? to the mooslem brotherhood...
                              i don't how to fly one, but if they can give one away to our enemy, or even sell it, i think i should be able to have a couple!
