  • Finally broke down a paint a rifle this weekend

I was up all night Saturday sick so I made use of the time. I painted the WASR. I decided to not do the sponge camo. I wanted to see how well I could come up with pattern similar to MultiCam but just using spray cans and nothing else. So I did. I winged it with what I had. I used Sand, Khaki, Brown, Deep Forrest green, Army Green, and olive.

Yeah SIX colors. I managed to decent fade work with the 3 greens. the army green is a very light very bright green, the deep forrest green is a dark green, and the olive is a very dark green. here are some pictures:

    1st the sand:

    then the khaki:

Next the Greens. At this point i shot two or 3 of the colors at the same time. I shot the army green followed by the forrest green and then the olive:

    finally the brown.

I think it came out more like ATACS or what ever its called. I managed to make it a molted brown green tanish which was kinda the goal.

    What do you guys think?

    Nice.

If you want a little more brown contrast, you can mix the dark brown and sand for more of a lighter coyote brown-ish color. Krylon used to make a mud brown that was close, but have dropped it from their line.
Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.

Not bad one thing you can do if you wanted to blend it little more is using leaves or just shredded cloth to break the patterns for more definition. Yes you csn do it with spray cans been there anddid on dads 30-06. Overall very nice job
Whats the point of having and not knowing how to use? You dont have a car and not know how to drive it do you? Having the tools for the job is worthless with out the knowledge of how to use it!
