  • AAC Blackout flash hider

These flash hiders are supposed to eliminate muzzle flash even on CQB length barrels.

Never heard of them, got a link?

The "Wolverine" flash hider that was years ago marketed by Suarez International is pretty darn fantastic on an AK.

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

You can not eliminate muzzle flash but can reduce it to some very low levels. I don't have any experience with these

couple of things to look at. the front of the cage is not solid so it stands to reason it is not as strong as the military model, I would at least pinch the top and see if the petals flexed in. it's not a huge issue till you drop it and yes during combat or even when you just carry the rifle daily things get dropped or hit the ground when you fall on them
Also if you are planning on using a bayonet make sure it still fits over these aftermarket designs as some do not work well. may be a non issue as most do not use or plan to use bayonets
I would want to see a comparison using the cheapest junk ammo possible. the junk ammo doesnt use powders with reduced flash qualities and wil be easier to see
and maybe i'm just picky LOL

The only way to suppress muzzle flash is with a sound suppressor.

open prong FS tend to work better than closed cage FS. smith enterises vortex works really well and its open prong.

uh there are many FS that do infact supress flash. if you are looking to eliminating it then yes a sound supressor does a great job.

The bigger the bore, sometimes not even a can will eliminate muzzle flash. The first 2 shots or so on a 45 will show noticeable muzzle flash. I have also seen 223 cans on short barrel guns show flash.
