Is there any major difference (besides one being a Bulgarian and one a Russian) in the Arsenal Inc SGL21-61

US manufacturer and importer of the finest and most authentic examples of the time proven assault rifles, the best Kalashnikov design ak-47/74 type rifles in the world.

    and the SLR-107

Other than price? Major quality differences or one is better because? Looks to be the bells and whistles are slightly different, but overall, pretty decent reviews online on both.

And also other than the SGL21-61 can't be had at the moment.

One thing to check on is the thickness of the receiver. Some are 1 m/m and some are 1.5 m/m.

I have a Bulgarian. It has a 1.5 m/m receiver and it is VERY rigid. It may not be as good as a milled receiver but it won’t miss it by much.

I did a quick Google on the SGL21. According to some it is 1 m/m. Others claim that it is 1.5 m/m. Oh well……….

The Bulgy is a side folder. They will usually nick you pretty well for a folding stock.

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Arsenal guns are pretty much top of the line. Remember the receivers are made in the US. I have not seen a bad Arsenal gun come through our shop. You will pay more for the Arsenal products so it is up to you if you feel it is worth it.

The recievers are made in Russia (Izmash factory - original maufactors of the AK) for the SGL series and the SLR recievers are made in Bulgaria. Only the SA series recievers are made in the US. Just FYI if you are looking to buy made in America and not assembled in America. Other than that I think all the models are basically the same its just a matter of where the parts are made and hence their manufactoring standards/quality control.

Other than that I have a SGL and I love it. Came out the box zeroed perfectly and ready to shoot. Nothing added to the rifle just straight out the box. Have no complaints about the rifle for what I use it for with the exception of the handguard getting hot with sustained shooting and VERY VERY hot with mag dumps. Much hotter than my buddies wasr with wood furniture. Not hot enough to melt it though Im sure you could if you just kept shooting it.
