I know i started a thread about AR15 brands. but I just bought an AK47 WASR, I just could not beat the price of 450.00 vs 900 for an AR. Looks like a solid gun, racks smooth and looks solid. I cant wait to fire it.

the sights look a little to be desired. has anybody put on a red dot sight or other improved sights on an AK?

You keep your eyes open you will find a good deal in a AR. I didn't need this but I just picked up a Remington R-15 VTR. It came with the Nikon 4.5x14 Coyote scope. 10 30rd mags (loaded ) and a case of Federal green tip ammo unopen. Gave $1000 for it.

I like the AR platform,Why??.....ME.. thats why..I have fired and worked on almost all types of civilian rifles and the AR rifle suits my shooting style best. Everyone needs to find the rifle or rifles that they feel comfy with and that they can shoot. The SKS,Mosin and AK pattern rifles all have shot groups tighter than I can point and have never malfunctioned, So what more can you ask for? The rifle to speak to you. TALK??? no speak, not in a voice but in performance and confidence ''voice'' that the rifle says to you "I am on target and I will do my part now how about you?" Like LD3 says He likes the crappy commie rifles,nothing "crappy" about them, They most likley speak to him and work for him .

I looked on the internet and those Techsights look like they would be usefull. only 110 dollars not a bad price

I have an AK with a quad rail that I put an EOTECH on. It was ok. I like the iron sights on an AK more than an AR.
