  • New Ruger 10-22

I bought a ruger 10-22 yesterday, and I'm already working on mods. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the ATI 6 psoition folding stock.
My question is has anyone used the Williams Fire Sight, fiber optic sights? On any gun,Pros & cons please?
I'm looking to use the rife as a carry around in the truck gun, and for my wife to play with, so I want it to light and compact. I don't plan on it being my primary rifle.
    Thanks for comments.
Survival question. What do I need most, right now?

If you decide to change out the trigger group parts, make sure to use the factory trigger return and hammer springs. The Volq springs gave me light strikes with the bulk ammo. They may work fine with match ammo though.

I would visit the appleseed forums or google "liberty training rifle" before I did too many mods. These guys have tweaked the 10-22 to the max for the Appleseed project and have determined a pretty good setup for very little $$$

        YMMV,

really though, in my experiance, if you are doing the liberty training rifle, buy a .22 ar-15 instead. otherwise have fun with the 10/22 oh and the shooters ridge mag loader works better than the butler creek one.

Trying to remember if I ever had a jam in a 10/22???? Nothing memorable, that's for sure.

Good little rifles. Good starter rifle for training gals and young folks too. Worth having one for that if nothing else.

What about an extended mag release? If so what brand?
Also I had a couple of failure to feed problems with a Butler Creek 25 round mag, but it was old cheep h/p ammo. Any favorite mags?

I have had no trouble with the mags in the picture the Butler Creek 25 round mag work fine in mine but I've done some work on the bolt and housing in the recoil spring. The eagle mag I don't care too much for because of the length of it. I shoot a lot of the cheap Remington 550 pack of ammo, now the federal bulk pack I have had some problem with.
