10 per cent challenge for 2012

This happened with the last assault weapons ban. There was a buying frenzy on both weapons and ammo. Obviously, the weapons didn't come back but the ammo did, albeit at slightly higher prices. I'm not saying that it's OK to wait, just saying don't panic yet. Of course, those were different times and the leftys weren't as strong as they are now. To echo what Matt was saying, if you haven't been buying it with the rest of your preps, I guess it's too late for the 'one time good deals'.

I just started prepping last year and have been adding ammo at about the same rate as the rest of my supplies. I'm not even close to where I should be but I'm a LOT better off than I was a year ago.

I've pretty much hit the 10% for the majority of my calibers I mainly use. Some of the off calibers (7.62x25, .308 and 9x18) I missed the mark, but my standby calibers of 5.56, .45 ACP and 9mm I made it in fine.

Next year will be a bit different, but I still should be okay.

I'm guessing many folks would barely make the ONE percent challenge in 2013. Typically people hoard even more and shoot even less when ammo prices are high or scarce.

It's a shame too, the emphasis should be on SKILL AT ARMS not on how many ammo cans you have stacked up.

When you miss "T Dog" and he caps you cause you haven't practiced in years, the whole "187 Street Posse" is going to be better armed with all your nice shiny stuff that shows no use.....
