If it works fine manually, you might be having an ammo problem rather than a gun problem. Try a different manuf. ammo in it and see if the problem goes away. I had trouble with some Yugo. surplus ammo that wouldn't eject consistently. If not, I can't help ya- might have to try the gunsmith route.

Anybody else got ideas????

I'm with Brokedownbiker on the ammo. If it doesn't have enough blow back it won't work. I shoot only Wolf ammo in mine cause I was haveing issues myself with othere brands.

Been trying wolf tula and some cheap surplus no luck. Thanks again for any input.

Have you taken a close look at the rim of the case where the ejector should be grabbing it? Does it show any signs the the ejector is trying to grab it or does it appear that the ejector is not grabbing it at all? If the bolt isn't completely cycling, the bolt won't completely close, which means the ejector won't hook over the rim.

Cosmoline. Probably was coated in it.

I have an SKS that did the same thing. It had a round stuck in it. I had to use a mallet to knock the action back to get it out. ( Don't ever do that, it's not safe) I used a couple of cans of brake parts cleaner to get off all the cosmoline. Then I cleaned everything with Hopppe's No. 9 and oiled it. No problems since.

Just to be clear...is it not extracting the spent casing, or not ejecting it?

I would suspect that there is a build-up in the small cutout area of the extractor...working the action manually (slowly) allows it to grip enough, while firing the weapon operates the mechanism too quickly for a good grip. Cosmoline, carbon and metal shaving from shell cases all contribute.
