I used my 20 lb pot so long and so much I have rebuilt it twice. Wife just bought me a new RCBS 20 Bottom pour for our anniversary and I'm looking forward to switching over to it, but that lee sure served me well."The difference between genius and stupidity is . . .genius has its limits."~Albert Einstein

Early on in my casting career, I figured out that normal (1-2 cavity molds), small electric pots, gear resulted in 150 bullets per hour (cast, sized, lubed) and if I counted in the time spent aquiring and cleaning up the lead, the figure fell to 100 bullets per hour. So I got a propane fired plumber's furnace, a 100 lb cast iron pot, a Star Progressive sizer-luber, 6 cavity "gang" molds, and got the figure up to 600 finished bullets per hour, counting all time involved. :-) Much more "like it". Today, the costs of lead and production are 3c apiece for .45 bullets, and you can buy them for $80 per 1000 slugs, so you are only saving 5c per bullet. Wanna work your butt off in the heat, for $5 an hour, while breathing toxic fumes and taking serious risks of burns, fire damage, lead absorbtion thru your skin? Not me. Even at $30 per hour, it still sucks.
