How to bury your treasure
I have used a version of this method with great
success. I used a vacuum sealed plastic with absorbers
on steel and seperate bags for food all in PVC. Used
Dry ice to remove the oxygen in the tube and then sealed
it. My last step before burrying was to tar the ends.
The great thing about PVC is it can be cut open with a
peace of nylon string.

Switch to oxygen absorbers instead of the dry ice and it will be safer and probably more effective.Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"
Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"
Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

I am a big advocate of caching. For inexpensive items, I will use PVC, etc. For expensive items, I use more elaborate concrete caches. In fact, most of our supplies are cached in very secure locations. Some of our caches can double as a survival hide out, are suitable to live inside, and offer radiation protection.
Keep in mind that someone with a metal detector could find a PVC cache with a rifle or other metal items in it.
As stated, PVC etc. is OK for some items, but for valuable items you may need something more suitable.EXPECT THE BEST - PREPARE FOR THE WORSE
KEEP ON PREPPING
