  • Question on Comm-Block arms.

I've noticed Dragunov SVD rifles are being sold in the U.S. now. (Maybe they have been for a long time, but I just noticed.) The ones I'm seeing are Romanian built. My question is, are the Romanian built arms any good?

I've owned a couple of different AK's. One was a great rifle the other was a POS, but I don't remember where is was made.

    Any help would be good.

I think you have to watch out buying the Romanian AK's....do a search on the forum and you should find something.

Are you sure they're SVDs and not PSLs? Last I knew, Clinton banned the importation of SVDs. If you can get a hold of a true SVD, take it. My friends tell me that they are built much better than the piece of junk PSLs.

Any Combloc Romanian weapon is usually on the lower end of the scale unless touched up by a professional. If you buy Romanian, you certainly need to look the weapon over well!

I'm not sure now if it's an SVD or not. I thought is was this morning, but I'd been looking at so much stuff I must have gotten confused. Anyway, here is the link to the rifle, and I would like honest feed back.

not a Draganov but a PSL. PSL is basically 7.62x54r AK while a drag uses the ak bolt and safety but a milled receiver and a different gas system.

Since it's not a Dragunov, and it's Romanian, I think I will pass on buying the rifle. Thanks for all the advice and help.

Definitely not a SVD. There are companies out there doing good things with the PSL's. If you're looking for a semiauto that fires the 7.62x54r, you should check them out.

Easiest way to tell the difference from a distance is the placement of the magazines. On the true Dragunov the mags were well in front of the trigger guard. On the Romanian it is right up against the trigger guard like an AK.
