Looks like a great piece of engineering. Not sure I would want to waste or commit an AR lower receiver for a crossbow.
I am not an expert on crossbows, but it sounds cool. Anyone know how much more accurate this is compared to their other bows? Any real improvement? How much are they?
Hey protus, ARs can do anything. I am working on an attachment to my AR. It is a fine dental instrument for pulling teeth. You attach it to the AR. Fishing line is then tied to the tooth. Pull the trigger and the tooth is painlessly extracted. (of course you need pain killers). Anyone willing to test it?EXPECT THE BEST - PREPARE FOR THE WORSE

yes they are working on Dewalt tactical add ons as we speak...
You wouldn't have to commit a lower to being a cross bow...but if you ran out of ammo you could just remove the upper then attach the cross bow and voila."It's a trap!!!!" -- Admiral Ackbar

That's really cool, a good option for when you don't have the time to tear down and clean your AR yet again! lol, I'm not a big supporter of these rifles for SHTF for that same reason. I like mine but I can't see having the time to care for it in such a scenario. I don't own a crossbow but I'm skeptical that it's the attachment that makes it any more accurate, it's simply the grip and trigger. Since the trigger pull is not effected we know it's just the hammer hitting the release mechanism. I'm sure they could make an ordinary crossbow perform just as accurate and I would assume with less weight. It's almost a complete weapon by itself and it does in fact waste or commit the receiver cutting what could be 2 weapons into one. I can see the advantages but it also looks like a lot to pack along. This is the real world and not another Rambo film after all.
Certainly can't argue about how cool it is though and the video was absolutely fantastic, thanks for sharing!

I was trying to buy one of these last year when NC open crossbow hunting to everyone. couldnt find a vendor that sold them and did not want to buy over the net because of FFL required for crossbow purchase. I did a lot of research, watched a guy named izell (on youtube)shoot a rolaids at 50yards with it. The thing is amazing. He goes on to shoot a clay pigeon at 100 yards.
Having longer bolts gives it the accuracy. Hindsight being 20/20, I should have found a vendor or paid the ffl transfer fee. I bought a nice horton vision 175 and the cam came off on the 10 shot as I was sighting it in. 2 days before hunting season. I was so mad I went out and bought another CHEAP crossbow and used it instead of having horton fix my $800 crossbow. eventually I got horton to send me another one and I will use it this year, but everytime I see that PSE 15, I know it could have been mine because I spent just as much on the 2 crossbows as the PSE anyway. Where our retreat is located and the OP, there stand to be a very good chance that some deer, bear or turkey will walk by and using a crossbow versus a rifle in that scenario makes all the sense in the world.
