SKS mag's Do they hold up?

I got an sks and I am about to hook up the mag. Do the mags hold up over time?

I dusted off my mag fed sks recently and took it to the range. I grabbed 4 mags that I loaded back in 98; not with 30 rds, but 29. I had heard that 30 rounds might compress the springs, so I removed 1 round from each mag. All functioned well with no jams from the surplus mags, no problems with the surplus ammo and of course, no problems with the sks.
