  • Any MAJOR failures?

For me, reliability is the biggest criteria for weapons selection.

What weapons have you had any MAJOR problems with? What would you avoid using again?

What have you had minor problems with? How did you work them out?

How important is reliability to you in a weapon?

Reliability is a top priority. Only ever had one that was unreliable, and that was a early model Tauras PT100. It couldnt get through a 12 rnd mag without at least 1 malfunction. Got rid of it post haste. I've always bought quality weapons, and almost exclusively always new (or built them myself from quality new parts), and have never had any problems.

I have problems with two pistols that i had to sell because i could not trust.

      1. A 44 mag Ruger Blackhawk. The shroud screw that holds the shroud on the rod moves in to eject the shell out of the cylinder. i bought it used.

      2. A 44 mag Desert Eagle (first gen.) The problem i had with it was after less then 100 rounds factory or 20 reloads the gun would have to be stripped down and cleaned or it would lock up and you could not even operate the slide.
