Do AK magazines fit in the old style M16 Ammo pouches, the original pouches

20 rd. AK mags will fit in the old school (3) 30 rd. mag M16 pouches. 30 rd. ak mags will not.

In the long long ago, in the before before time LOL, the only option for AK mags was either Chinese 6 cell chest pouches, some very hard to find Russian pouches, later some E.G. 4 cell raindrop pattern pouches where the belt loop was too small for US belts and if you sliced them just a bit they would fit- but flop off on you at unfortunate times. In the mid 90's you could start finding some mag pouches made by a place in TN that looked just like really long M16 pouches but held (3) 30 rd. AK mags. A couple early production runs even had the dividers. I later order a couple dozen more and they came without them. Called the company and the guy claimed they NEVER made any with the dividers, LOL. Only one company made them that I knew of and that I ordered from. He later recanted on that and said "boy you bought those a LONG time back." LOL

A good semi low cost option now that will work with ALICE belts, etc. is the Blackhawk 4 cell pouches and the knockoffs that are made just like them from Voodoo or Condor. I've used the BH ones and the knockoff ones and never had a problem with either type.
